Ian's Macs

Mac mini (AIMacMini)

  • Canonical code: ~/projects. Docs copy target: ~/projects/grokbot.
  • Xcode builds for SnapDog (macOS) and the iOS apps.
  • Local AI: oMLX (served on the tailnet) and Ollama (local only). See local-ai.md.
  • Apple M4, 16 GB unified memory.
  • Holds INCIDENTS.md at ~/projects/_docs/INCIDENTS.md (Warden).
  • Hermes (coding agent) on the mini: v0.22.2. Primary MiniMax-M3 (cloud API); only fallback is local oMLX. 6 cron jobs in ~/.hermes/cron/jobs.json; 4 failed Oct 15 with "Connection error" (Warden's lane). The oMLX key file ~/.config/omlx/key was missing on the mini, and the gateway watchdog restarted Oct 15 22:43. Source: read-only appendix in /workspace/hermes-tuner/AUDIT-2026-10-16.md (2026-10-16). Box Hermes is separate; see infra/box.md.
  • Other CLIs on the mini (2026-10-16 inventory): ollama, llama.cpp (llama-server, llama-cli), Codex CLI 0.162.1, kimi-cli 1.31.0, asitop. mcode (MiniMax Code) is installed but broken: its launcher points at a removed Homebrew Node path. Fix needs Ian's OK. Source: /workspace/model-orchestration/mac-mini-inventory.md.
  • About 130 GB of model data (Ollama 37 GB, HF cache 73 GB). Disk ~971 GB free of 1.8 TB.
  • Reached by the desktop connector, the mac-mini-files connector, and tssh.

MacBook Pro

  • M4 Max. Proposed for Studio video renders.
  • Reachable over the tailnet on SSH only.

The Neo

  • Laptop. Often offline. Tailnet SSH only.

NAS

  • /Volumes/nas/projects: backup mirror of Foreman's single canonical root ~/projects (AIMacMini:~/projects stays canonical). All NAS edits are allowed now — settled per Ian, confirmed in the Archivist chat on 2026-10-16 8:04 PM CT (answering the widget; Ian had said verbatim there on 2026-10-16 7:30 PM CT: 'You can edit to NAS.', and Warden reported the same widening from Warden's chat at ~7:31 PM CT). This supersedes the narrow exception (only PROJECTS.md/ACTIVITY.md writes, approved 2026-10-16 12:04 AM CT). NAS being editable does not make it the canonical root. See decisions/2026-10-16-nas-editable.md, bots/foreman.md, and OPEN-WORK.md.
